Senior Consultant

Patrick Geschwind entered the consulting field after 25 plus years of dynamic leadership experiences, mostly with SBC, a Fortune 50 Company.

Over the past eight years, he has consulted with approximately 50 firms in a variety of capacities. He has procured senior managers in both the profit and not-for-profit sectors. He has also recruited customer service representatives as well as IT professionals.

In addition to search services, he has developed management training academies and delivered stand-up training. He has conducted investigations of alleged sexual harassment on behalf of three different employment attorneys and has testified as an expert witness. One of his specialties has been one-on-one consulting with small business entrepreneurs, assisting these owners in honing the skills necessary to get the most out of their employees.

Retiring early as a Regional Vice President of Business Sales, Patrick achieved superior results by insisting on high standards from his associates, following strategies geared toward excellence, and developing creative solutions to attack old, entrenched problems. Pat has brought to his consulting practice an effective selection process that makes him a top-notch search executive. With his negotiation and leadership skills, he is excellent in mediating disputes between employees and bosses, management and labor, and company and customers. With his participative management skills, he teaches empowerment principles to frustrated employees and their skeptical supervisors.

Education:
MPA Masters of Public Administration, University of Missouri-Kansas City, with a specialty emphasis in urban administration

AB Bachelor of Arts, Rockhurst University, with majors in history and education

Expertise:
Pat developed an expertise in force management. He focused on obtaining the right number of high quality associates who excelled in the "right" culture. His organizations demonstrated a care and concern for people. Characteristics of his work place culture include the following:
Standards of excellence that ALL employees could understand and shoot for:

  • Flexibility in approach to solutions
  • Participation in decision making
  • Vigilant, forceful attitude towards REAL problem folks
  • Tolerant attitude towards borderline performers
  • Opportunities for employee growth through additional assignments, committee work, etc.

Pat fostered a culture of true empowerment, not a fad-chasing, grab the buzzword of the month approach. With his leadership qualities, he has stepped in on short notice and assumed the role of an interim executive of a troubled organization. In this role, he plugs the holes of failure, focuses the team on the true objectives of the team, removes any players who refuse to perform, and turns the revived organization over to the future permanent executive.
